April saw Vision Nine take on the UK B-Boy World Championships on behalf of our client Relentless Energy Drink. As relative new comers to the scene, and taking a lead presenting partner status, it was key to help Relentless approach the event in an integrated and authentic way. We needed to ensure the brand were adding value whilst providing support that signalled they were not only here to play, but here to stay.
With dance categories including popping, locking, hip hop and house we witnessed how incredibly physical and creative this art form can be.
Brand visibility and cut through were an important part of the activation whilst adding value to the event and the consumer experience. The icing on the cake were the hand-made winners Relentless / Bboy champs collab Jackets that replaced previous trophy’s and became hot property.
Relentless grime ambassadors Ghetts & Rude Kid whipped the crowd into a frenzy with a huge live rendition of One Take (made famous by grime elite Stormzy, Yungen & Chip), as well as Reeps One blowing the crowd away with the kind of beatbox theatrics that recently earned him an invitation to perform and speak at Harvard University no less!
It all came to an exciting climax when Sunni, one of Relentless’ sponsored dance ambassadors was crowned world solo B-Boy champion.
A real buzz in the air as the audience filed out signalled that we had witnessed something special and feedback from consumers, artists and performers alike were that Relentless’ support had really helped step things up a notch this year. We look forward to the next battle!
